This high-level panel debate, convened ahead of the Danish EU Presidency 2025, brings together leading investors and policy experts to examine the pressing challenges and emerging opportunities shaping Europe’s investment environment. With private equity (PE) fundraising facing persistent headwinds—macroeconomic uncertainty, regulatory changes, and evolving investor expectations across buyouts, growth, venture, and impact investing—the discussion will spotlight both obstacles and solutions for revitalizing European growth.
Despite raising €122.3 billion in 2024 (the third-highest on record), 41% of PE professionals cite fundraising as their biggest challenge in 2025, and 53% expect it to remain the top issue for the next five years. The debate will explore how the Danish EU Presidency can leverage this pivotal moment to advance targeted policy reforms, improve regulatory frameworks, and catalyse private-sector investment across the continent.
